A century of conviviality at the foot of the Alps

The Marius Bar

The lively heart of the establishment, a meeting place and an essential stop in the house, the Marius Bar takes its name from Marius Bise, the son of François and Marie, founders of the Auberge du Père Bise. More than a century ago, it was Marius who welcomed guests to the shores of Lake Annecy, seating crowned heads and gourmets from around the world at the table of his wife Marguerite, which would soon be awarded a Michelin star. His sense of hospitality lives on today in the spirit of the Marius Bar, a lively space opening out onto the lake, the pontoon, the gardens, and the terrace of the Auberge du Père Bise, which is located next to Jean Sulpice’s two-star gourmet restaurant.

Guests of the five-star hotel, visitors, and passersby gather here from morning to night, enjoying the view and the cozy atmosphere. It is a unique space where you can experience the rhythm of the Auberge de Bise and enjoy its conviviality in a different way.

Breakfast

Guests at the five-star Auberge du Père Bise hotel are invited to enjoy breakfast on the terrace overlooking Lake Annecy or inside the Marius Bar, where they can savor the peace and beauty of the surroundings in the morning. The moment is just as delightful as the rest of the venue, offering a profusion of fresh fruit juices, breads and pastries, Savoie charcuterie and cheeses, smoked trout, scrambled eggs with bottarga or truffles, French toast, cakes, tarts, madeleines, and pastries, including the famous house vanilla-saffron flan, created by pastry chef Valentin Duflot.

On the go

For those feeling peckish, for the pleasure of tea time facing the Entrevernes mountain or an aperitif with your feet in the water of Lake Annecy, the Marius Bar offers a wonderful selection of pastries (warm chocolate soufflé, Marjolaine, the Bise family’s signature dish) and finger food (fried perch, a basket of fresh fruit and vegetables accompanied by tartines of lake féra, candied lemon, and pormonier in puff pastry). Depending on the season, themed snacks are also available, much to the delight of families.

The carefully curated wine and cocktail menu, including non-alcoholic options, draws on Chef Jean Sulpice’s harvests and pickings to create infusions, syrups, and emulsions directly inspired by the plant and alpine world of the Auberge du Père Bise.
